Olympic weightlifting, is an athletic discipline where we look to master the two barbell lifts of snatch and clean and jerk.

An athletic discipline
You participate in two lifts, the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk. Weightlifting tests aspects of explosive strength and is executed faster and with more mobility and a greater range of motion than other lifts.
Train Manchester has a 1,500 square foot area dedicated to weightlifting, including 12 lifting platforms and squat stations along with a set of jerk blocks.
Classes are technique orientated, and will cover the basic lifts and their variations followed by assistance movements and squatting.
All weightlifting members receive an individually tailored programme which they work on in all classes.
